"Lela suggested we build cards around postcards or real postage or even postal images; we've added in a couple twists of our own, so this fortnight you can choose from a few different-- but all MAIL-RELATED-- options:
make a card that includes faux or real
postage or postal images
(mailboxes,
postcards, stamps, cancellations, etc)
OR
create a holiday postcard
OR
make a holiday card with a matching
(decorated) envelope."
Hmmmm, sounds like fun! I found some mini postcard style tags in my stash . I bought these last year and really had no idea how I was going to use them, until now!!
Here's my card for the postal challenge....
I accented the vintage postcard with a border and tree cut rom my Cricut cartridge Joys of the Season. To give the border and tree a wee bit more interest I coated the tree with Glimmer Glam ( Hay Ride) and inked the edges with CTMH's Olive ink. Once the glimmer dried on the tree , I curled the edges a bit for an aged look. I used a shimmery green cardstock for the border ; I used some red stickles for berries . I did the same for the holly berries on the postcard . I added
a Making Memories brad to the corner of the postcard to cover a faux wax seal that I wasn't all that keen on. The ribbon on top was part of the ornament ( a hanger), I just tied it a bow. The crochet trim is SU.Finally, the bling in the background was leftovers from my stash.Oh, and all those lovely papers are from a 6X6 pad from Memory Box called Tinsel.
So that's my postal card! Maybe I'll make an envelope to match!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
