Seaside SVG Kit - Assembly Tutorial

SVG Cuts Lighthouse and card

Hi all! I love making 3D papercrafts and SVG Cuts is my go-to source for fantastic projects!!! I love their unique projects and the how-to videos make assembly a breeze!!! I fell in love with the Seaside collection ..... here's my lighthouse I made from the set;

The card is the fish card base from the set , but I stamped an image from CTMH's Perfect Day set.... this lighthouse image is my favorite .I used my aquapen and ink pads to add touches of color and for a nautical finish, I added a Carrick Bend knot (aka sailors knot) to both the card and lighthouse. The anchor is from another SVG Cuts file ( Cape Cod) . All shapes were cut out on my Silhouette. The papers used are from Graphic 45 's collection called By The Sea.

You can check out SVG Cuts YouTube channel for detailed instructions on how to make this cool project!

Hi everyone! I'm cutting it pretty close , but I managed to get my card done and posted in time for the current challenge over at Jingle Belles called 'Tis The Season To Jingle . They paired up with the DT at  'Tis The Season ( another great Xmas card challenge site)and they have a great sketch to go along with it.....

Here's my card....

I used papers from My Minds Eye.... love the vintage-y look. For my bling , I added a glittery Noel word , cut on my Silhouette and a  felt poinseta flower.

Well that's my card....I'm looking forward to the next JB challenge!!

Father's Day card and Graphic 45

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted! April is a crazy busy month in our house..... three kids birthdays and Easter , plus the kids were off for Spring break. I even hosted two card classes this month !! With the warmer weather and longer days I expect that I will have even less craft time.

Today I have a couple projects to share with you....

The  first is a Pinterest inspired card made with Graphic 45 papers. I think this has to be my new favorite paper company ... I love their vintage style. The papers are Graphic 45 , the flowers , brads and floral epoxy brad are odds and ends from my stash and the butterfly was made with my Silhouette, I purchased cutfile from the online store. The sentiment is from C.C. Designs stamps called Sassy Sentiments.

I haven't made an easel card in so long that I actually had to search a tutorial. I forgot how simple they were!!!  One of my groups made this card last weekend and it was a hit! :-)  I found the anchor in my SVG Cuts files and cut several out and layered them for more dimension. The stamp set is one of my CTMH favorites Perfect Day.

Well, that's my cards for today... I'm off to enjoy this sunshine!!!
Thanks for stopping by today- have a great day!!

Spring banner

Hi! It may be mid-April but the signs of spring are just arriving here. Today I saw lots of robins flying about  enjoying the sunshine which has been long overdue! We still have way too much of the yucky white stuff but it's slowly disappearing!!Yay!!  I have a place in my mudroom for a seasonal banner - and I only just got around to taking down the winter banner and replacing it with a new spring banner I made .

I've been searching the web for inspiration and I found a pretty burlap banner on Pinterest. Instead of stenciling letters , I cut mine out with my Silhouette machine ( it's my go-to tool these days!!!), as well as the grass and flowers were from cutfiles I bought at the Silhouette online store . I added heat'n bond to the back of each piece of fabric before cutting out and then just used my iron to bond them to the burlap tags. The tags were cut freehand - I started with a much larger tag and just kept trimming them to get the size I wanted! So easy!! I had this super cute butterfly that I glued on , a few buttons for the flower centers and twine & mini clothespins and this banner is complete! This banner was finished in under an hour!!!!

Now maybe if I start planning my summer banner I made actually get it finished before summer is over!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.... have a great rest of your Sunday!!

May all your dreams come true...

Happy Friday!! Today I have a really girlie card to share with you. I found this digi stamp on Pinterest and even though I've had it for some time , I only just got around to coloring it with my Copic markers.

I created a custom shape for the digi image and matching mat with my Silhouette , as well as for the oval for the sentiment. Sorry, I can't remember which markers I used -I colored this sweet girl in a couple of weeks ago and forgot to write down which shades I used . I left the inside blank because I'm thinking that this card can used for a birthday , good luck or even a thinking of you card. The color scheme kinda reminded me a bit of Holly Hobby!!!

I'm entering this over at Cut It Up! for their Anything Goes challenge#41 in honor of National Crafting month - March, of course!!!

You still have a few days left of this month , so go and create something and celebrate this  crafting month!!!

Thanks for stopping by today --- hope your weekend is awesome!!

By the sea layout

Hi! Spring is just a week or so away and yet when I look out my window I see no signs of its arrival.... just lots and lots of snow!!! Well, at least all this cold weather has given me plenty of to tackle my stacks of photos just waiting to be scrapped! I don't often scrapbook chronologically- I just grab a photo that catches my eye and start from there. Lately, I've been starting with my layout and then I find the pic to go with it!!! Anyhoo...  I have quite a few great photos of our trip to Cape Spear ( the most easterly point in North America) to get in a that I still want to get in a layout. Here's one completed........

I started off with some printed kraft cardstock and then proceeded to add layers. I used a chicken wire stencil and a gel medium ( to the right side of photo, and on top) and then a gesso-d faded dots stencil on the left , some ink, some stamping , some more inked stencil and then on to the next layers. I had this cheesecloth in my stash that I added to the bottom. The tags were cut out of  kraft cardstock and printed cs and inked with a CTMH stamp set called Perfect Day... I used images from that set for the quote on the small tag , behind the photo and on the quote on the top. I tried a fishermen's knot ... hmm, don't think that will be my calling!! LOL  The anchor was cut from a SVG attic file on my Silhouette machine multiple times so that it looked like chipboard and then I inked the edges. I found a beautiful quote online... made it on my Silhouette , printed it and then cut a custom mat around it and to finish it off I stamped a boat image from the Perfect Day set in Twilight ink. A few buttons , some twine for the anchor and I'm done!!!

Yay... another layout finished!!!
Thanks for stopping by today.... have a great day!!!
