Shamrock table runner and Leprechaun hat

Thank you to Cut It Up! for choosing my table runner as one of their top 3 picks! I'm honored!!!

I'm back with a St Patrick's day project, well actually two, to share with you. I wanted to make a table runner for my dining room table that I could leave out for the month of March.

I found this shamrock cluster in the Silhouette store . I fused it to a light hold Heat N Bond and then cut it out on my machine. Once I heat set it to the runner , I sewed around the shamrocks to keep them in place. Really, this was such a simple project.
Then I got to thinking.... what would look neat on this runner??? So , I went back to my purchased files and found this really cool top hat, which I made into a leprechaun's hat. I used the top hat from SVG Attic's Mad Tea Party cutfiles.

I didn't have enough Patty's day print papers to make the hat, so  I dug through my fabric stash and found this dark green material. I cut the hat out of dark green cardstock and then fused the fabric ( again, with a light hold Heat N Bond)  directly to the cardstock. I t worked amazing!!!! Plus it gave the hat a more realistic look and feel to it!! A few feathers, a green flower and of course, a lucky shamrock and this hat is complete!!!The Luck of the Irish phrase is also from Silhouette.

I'm entering these projects over at Cut It Up for their Green for St. Patrick's  Day or Spring challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.... hope your day is fabulous!!
