Jingle Belles: Reindeer Games

Good morning all!!! The ladies at Jingle Belles have a fun prompt for us this week.... we are invited to join in on the reindeer games. Stef and Lauren have once again posted some really cute samples, too!!   But don't worry if you don't have any reindeer in your stash... you can use any critter you like!! I just so happen to discover my reindeer feltie while searching for something else entirely!!!!

I substituted brads for the eyes ( the poor fella was missing one !!), but that was it... he is so darn cute, I think!!! :-) I few Thickers for the sentiment , a couple scraps of paper and , voila!, I'm done!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
I'm off to enjoy the day... hope you have a great one, too!!!

The Friday Mashup 15

This week for the "Mashup Challenge" you're welcome too:

Create a project using the colours Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso, Old Olive and Whisper White.

Create a project using the sketch.

or "Mash it Up" and create a project using the colours and the sketch.

This is the first time I tried these colors together  and I must admit, I just love them!!! I only used the teeniest amount of Riding Hood Red.... just the sentiment, but I still managed the Mashup, so I'm pretty pleased!!!!! I look forward to the next challenge!!!

Thanks for stopping by .... have a great day!!

My scrapbooking inspiration.

Why do you scrap?
Happy Saturday everyone, thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you're having a great start to your weekend!
I started scarpbooking over12 years ago when I was having my second child. Back then my pages consisted mainly of photos cut with fancy edge sissors ( freestyle, ugh!!!) and matted  on some cardstock , with a few stickers to finish the page up. I look back on those pages and think how much my style has evolved over the past decade... now it's all about the more I can squeeze on a page the better!! But , I wouldn't change those  early layouts on single bit because they remind me how important it was  to record my family's journey in the first place! Over the years I have managed to fill over 40 albums and numerous mini books in addition to the various other papercrafting projects I've made at Cropping events and classes.
While I love to venture out in other branches of papercrafting, scrapbooking will always hold a special place in my heart. I still love to scrapbook and I've made it a point to dedicate some scrapping time each month .... I so seriously need to catch up!!! It doesn't hurt that it's so much fun shopping for all those fun papers and embellishments out there!!!

So I thought I would share a few more pages with you ....

I started this layout more than three years ago when I saw a similar layout at my local scrapbook store. I bought the papers, cut out the rope paper, glued in down and that was it .... until now. The photos of my son's guitar performance seemed just right for this layout. It only took me three years to finish it!!!

I'm really loving the October Afternoon line right now. The 5&Dime collection has a little bit of everything, which I tried to incorporate onto this layout. I pulled so many things for this layout... my sewing machine, the Cricut and even some stamps ( Heidi Swapp) and of course OA papers and chipboard /stickers.

This layout features the travel stamp set form the Summer Mini from Stampin' Up!, which I bought specifically with scrapbooking in mind. I kept it simple for this layout, just a stamped border and tags with even more stamped accents.

I diecut the floral label and coordinating mat on my Cricut for this page with my DD and her BF's.The pleated border is from a recent tutorial on Splitcoaststampers but I made it longer to fit my page. It didn't want to stay flat so I stitiched my green polka dot ribbon directly to it ! Now it's not gonna move at all!!!! I stitched a couple corner edges to the girls pic and used a funky style " Friends" sticker for my title.

I have a bunch of these flowers in various sizes in my stash that really need to put to good use. They actually matched quite nicely with some jumbo buttons from SU's Spring mini. The accents are from Making Memories as is the floral paper which is custom diecut to that fancy shape thanks to my Cricut! The title is made with Thickers stickers. I hid my journalling underneath one photo.

I am so blessed to have such wonderful inspirations( aka. my kids) in my life!!

Have a great day and thanks so much for visiting..... hope to see you again real soon!!!

Friday Mashup #14 : Vintage Flowers

So, this week for the Mashup Challenge we invite you to:

1. Create a project with Flowers.

2. Create a Vintage project.

3. Or "Mash It Up!" and create a project with Flowers and a Vintage feel!

I often visit this awesome blog but it seems that I'm always a wee bit late in getting my posts up in time , and that was almost the case for this week's challenge , but I did get mine finished just in time.   **woot-woot**

The paper reminds me of old fashioned wallpaper ( how vintage is that!!!) and the fabric flower adds a soft feel to the card front, but I couldn't resist adding some glitz with the rhinestone flourish! I inked the edges of the label  and the inside sentiment tag with Blushing Bride ink.

Supplies for this card:
Fabric flower: Michaels
Rhinestone flourish : unkonown source
Card base: Very Vanilla from Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: Basic Grey
Sentiment label : cut form Cricut Cindy Loo cartridge
Sentiment: Close To My Heart
Ink : Purely Pomengranate ( retired SU), Blushing Bride
Other: sewing machine/white thread

Thanks for looking.... have a great day!!

Jingle Belles: Holiday Leftovers

Hello all!!
I've been enjoying some long overdue summer weather these past few weeks but it's been raining for the past couple of days so I'm finally spending some time in my craftroom!! This week's recipe at Jingle Belles is all about holiday leftovers ...... you know, the yummy leftovers from your paper or button stash , or that piece of ribbon you've hung onto waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.... well now's the time!!
For my card, I used a digi image I printed last December and some leftover dp.

I used my Copic markers to color the digi stamp .... ooooh, I so love them!!! I sponged the edges of the cardinal and dp  with Crumb Cake for a softer feel. The green organza ribbon has been in my ribbon stash for so long and I seem to have an endless supply of it!!!! Finally, the sentiment is a rub-on from SU ( couple years ago).
So there's my card for this week's prompt, just in the nick of time, too!!! Have you checked out all the terrific entries at Jingles Belles.........if not , go check 'em out!!!

Thanks for stopping by... hope to see you again!!
Happy crafting!
