Jingle Belles : Holiday B-I-N-G-O

Hi , I'm back to share my Jingle Belles card with you. Stef and Lauren ( click here for this week's challenge) are back with another fun challenge for us .... Holiday Bingo.  We have a cards full of options to inspire and challenge us!! Here's the "bingo" card ...

I choose to use the bottom row for my JB card.........

I heat embossed a tree ( Michaels stamp) in Olive ( CTMH ), but it looks more gold in this pic (ugh!!!). The greeting( Flourishes stamp) on the front was also heat embossed in Early Espresso craft ink and clear detail embossing powder. The ribbon is actually a dark brown , but it too looks different!! Trust me, this card looks so much better in person!!! The papers are from Memory Box inc. mini pad called Tinsel. I love the vintage look to these papers.

So that's my JB card for this fortnights challenge. Thanks for looking and your kind comments are always appreciated :)

Bugaboo digi card--- a java card

Hi! I love to color , and every now and then I may actually make something with the images I color!! LOL!! Bugaboo has a great selection of quirky images like the one I used for this card ...

I'm not a coffee drinker (yup, can't stand the taste of the stuff!!!) but I loved this image! Since I know lots of java junkies, I knew I could put ths to good use!!
The image is a Bugaboo image and the coffee rings and sentiment are from Verve's  Better With You set. The dp is from my stash and the cardbase is Stampin' Up's River Rock.

Anyhoo....... I had a lot of fun coloring this gal! Go check out Bugaboo digi stamps for lots of great images ( there really is sometghing there for everyone!!) and have fun!!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today..... your kind comments are always appreciated!!!

Sympathy Card ( SOS challenge 66)

Wow! I can't believe that August is almost over and the kids are back to school next week! While it will be nice for our household to settle into a routine again, I sure am gonna miss those lazy days of summer! But... back to school means means more time for me to get some crafting done!! I have to get started on planning my first card class of the fall , plus , I need to get a few cards made to bring to a local store .I haven't done very much this summer, so I'm gonna need all the help I can get!!!
This week I'm playing along with Shopping Our Stash's challenge : Use Your Favorite Things.  My favorite things that I love using are flowers and ribbon, which I've used both for this sympathy card.....

I found a tutorial on how to make paper calla lilies on YouTube and just had to make them! They were so easy. I colored the tip of my floral stems with a yellow Copic marker and then added yellow Stickles to make them pop.I could not get the three flowers to stay together , so I used floral tape ( I wrapped a paper floral stem with it,too) to bind the three lilies together and then added a organdy bow. I love the soft  color combo  of grey and yellow.
The sentiemnt is CTMH's : card chatter - Sympathy

Here's the inside.......

I used a sympathy verse from a Verve stamp set called Forever In Our Hearts. I used a Spellbinders Labels die front and inside of my card... to get the slightly bigger mat for the outside, I traced the die and then handcut it, as I don't have the die that cuts slightly bigger.

Well, that's my card.....thanks for stopping by!!! I appreciate your kind comments!!

Vintage 12X12 layout

Hello!  Have you ever discovered a blog that inspired you to create something RIGHT NOW? I just discovered a blog today called Amazing Grace ( check out her amazing blog here) that has so many stunning layouts created by the super talented Beatriz Farquhar-Guzman. She utilizes her Cricut along with  gorgeous papers and embellishments to create her beautiful works of art , and most are a double page layout!!! I fell in love with so many of her pages but there was one in particular that caught my attention and I knew I just had to try to make a version of my very own.

I really went outside my comfort zone for this layout..... there are so many different elements on these pages. Normally , I stick with  a very CAS style, but not this time! I pulled out my coveted stash of Prima and Want 2 Scrap  crystals and flowers for this layout , as well as some new chipboard embellishments that I got at Michaels.

Here's a closeup of some of the elements I used.....

The flowers are Prima, the crystals are Want @ Scrap and the chipboard images are from Michaels. The diecut paper is from We Are Memory Keeper's and the cardstock and background paper is from Close To My Heart.

Click here to see Beatriz's layout.

Now I just have to find the perfect photos for this layout!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog today..... your kind comments are always appreciated!!!

Spooky treats with CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge

Hello! I recieved my new cartridge from CTMH, called Artiste and I have to tell you I LOVE it!!! It has 700 images on it (WOW!) and it coordinates with selected stamp sets in the new CTMH catalogue.  I've already made several projects with it , but  first I'd like to share this gable box Halloween treats container.

I used the < fit to page> feature to get the biggest size for this box which is about 4X 4.5 " .The paper is retired Stampin' Up!. The "Spooky" word is cut from the new Artiste cartridge. The frame was stamped with CTMH's new set called Perfect Fit-Frames which coordinates with the Art Philosophy cart and was cut at 2.25" . I used CTMH ink, Sunset for the frame. A bit of baker's twine and this box is finnished! So simple , you could easliy make a whole bunch of these for classroom treats. I love the size of this box because you can use it for a small gift , treats, whatever you can think of!! I have dies that are great but I'm limited to one size only.... so I'm super happy to own this awesome cartridge!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great rest of your day!!

Getting sketchy with The Friday Mashup (72)

Hello! It's still absolutely pouring down rain here ... we sure could use some sunshine now!!! But all this rain has given me the perfect excuse ( as if I really need one!!!) to stay inside and play along with a few of my fav blog challenges, like The Friday Mashup, where guest DT , Amanda has an awesome sketch for us to play with....

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:

  1. Make a project with "the Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project w/ a "flower or multiple flowers".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project w/ "the Sketch and a flower or multiple flowers".

I love the Mashup challenges, so , of course, I decided to do #3!!! Here's what I came up with.....

I used papers from my Basic Grey pad called  Konnichiwa . This collection has beautiful florals , stripes and more Japanese inspired patterns.... just gorgeous! I love it so  much I made another card , very similar; I just switched the patterns!

Both greeting stamps are from Close To My Heart , cardstock is Stampin' Up! and the ribbon is from Ribbon Carosuel. Flowers are from Verve .

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great rest of your day!!!

Shopping Our Stash - Sketch it!

Hi again! I'm back to share with you another card I made for this week's SOS challenge, Sketch It! I have a folder created just for card sketches I love and gotta try! There are tons of awesome sketches out there , some of my favorites are from Pagemaps, Mojo Monday and the Deconstructed Sketch. This week, however, I'm using one from Create With Connie and Mary ( you can find a link on my blog). Here's  the sketch...

I played with this sketch a little until I got this....

I used papers from Glitz ,and the flourishes were made on my Cricut using the Cindy Loo cartridge. the flowers are from Michaels and the ribbon is SU!

That's my SOS Sktech It! card this week... thanks for dropping by and checking it out!

Jingle Belles -here we come a- sketching !

Hello! I love to use sketches when I'm making my cards ( really simplifies the process!!!) and Stef over at Jingle Belles has a lovely CAS sketch for this week's prompt. Here it is....

And here's what I did with the sketch....

Once again , I turned to my scrap papers for this card. I still have so much Christmas dp that I can't justify buying new stuff ( oh, but I sooo want to!!!!) . I'm trying so hard to resist adding to my Xmas stash until I've made a decent dent in what I already have!! This sketch is perfect for using up my bits and pieces of paper!! Gotta love that! That glittery green snowflake paper is from DCWV paper pack and the  cardstock ( red/brown) is from Stampin' Up! ( so is the brad) . The snowflake was cut at 2 1/4" with my Cricut, using my go-to cartridge , Art Philosophy . I have the new Artise cartridge from CTMH on the way.... can't wait!!!!  The sentiment is from Michaels' Recollection stamp line.

So that's my JB card... hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for dropping by my blog today! Have a great weekend!

Scarppin' Saturday --- more vacation layouts!

Happy Saturday! I've been so busy creating cards that I've neglected my huge pile of photos, namely the ones that I plan scrap from my trip . I need to get these done, cause I got another trip next month ( to NYC!!!). For this layout I used a sketch form PageMaps  ( jan 2012 sketch). I like that it uses a bunch of pics for just one 12X12 layout.

This sketch has so many fun elements to it .... I can really dig into my stash and use up some of my supplies ( so I can buy more  hee!hee!!)

I used mainly Stampin' Up! products for this page. The tickets and ribbons as well as the journalling block are from a line called Attic Boutique ( 2011 catalogue) . I've had these since last year but really haven't been able to find a use for them. Of course, that is until now! I still have lots left in the package! The flags were made using scraps of paper I had  lying around, ready tossed in the bin!Same with the photo mats . The flowers are from Verve ( gift with purchase) and I got the twine on a visit to one of my fav scrapbook stores in Edmonton ( The Urban Scrapbook --- oh, how I miss that place!!). The background is also from my retired SU! dp collection. The stamp is from SU's Word Play set - I embossed to make it stand out a little. The letters are from Prima ( date) and Pink Paislee.

I think that I may just put trip photos in an album .... well, maybe, I'll do just one more  page!!! lol

Thanks for stopping my blog today! Have a great rest of your weekend!
