Mojo Monday "Hello" card

Hi and welcome to my blog. It's been awhile since I've played along with Mojo Monday , but when I saw the great sketch by Julee Tillman, I dusted off my supplies and started creating. The tall and skinny card challenges are one of my favorites .. check it out...

The first size is 3.5 x 5.5" and fits a regular A2 envelope with a little room left over to let something (like the circle in this sketch) hang off the 3.5" side. You can use either of the following measurements, depending on where you want your fold.
  • 3.5 x 11" cut of cardstock, score long side at 5.5"
  • 5.5 x 7" cut of cardstock, score long side at 3.5"
For a little more skinny, you can try a 3.5 x 6" card to fit a regular No. 6 3/4 envelope (the ones that are about the size of a personal check).  Use either of the following measurements, depending on where you want your fold.
  • 3.5 x 12" cut of cardstock, score long side at 6"
  • 6 x 7" cut of cardstock, score long side at 3.5"

Here's my card.....

This was a pretty quick card... all the papers were from Teresa Collins Family Stories 6X6 paper pad, the tag was made on my Cricut Explore using the Small Talk Frames & Tags cartridge and the sentiment is from Simple Stories. I think it took me a grand total of 20 minutes to make this card!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

A boy's first love layout

Happy Monday! We've had a lovely and unseasonably warm summer so far , but today the skies are grey and it's threatening to rain... the perfect excuse to stay inside and scrap! It's been mainly just me and my youngest boy home all summer ... the eldest is working and the middle child away for a six week camp... so most of my pictures are focused on boy activities... like checking out car shows! This layout is all about Ethan's first love ...cars!! Does he ever love them and he knows so much about cars/trucks ( especially classic vehicles) from their engines, models, all the things I never needed to know before!!

This layout is dedicated to his love of cars..........

I started off with a distressed looking piece of cardstock from My Mind's Eye and then used my The Crafter's Workshop stencil and Tim Holtz distress stain in Vintage Photo to  add a bit of grungy  chevron to the base. The rest of my papers came from an old Cosmo Cricket 8X8 paper pad that I've had forever! It already looked grunged up so I only had to distress the edges a bit and ink the yellow strip and that was all! Pretty simple! I made my title using my Silhouette machine and I stamped a few sentiments on the yellow banner from a Simple Stories stamp. The blue and orange chevrons were stamped with a CTMH stamp and then handcut and adhered to the page . I scattered a few Prima Sugardots around the page, and a couple of Basic Grey elements and that's it!! I'm entering this layout over at Scrap The Boys blog for their boys and their toys challenge. They have lots of great DT ideas to get all your boy pages done!!

I hope you enjoyed my layout.... thanks so much for visiting my blog today!!

Hi all! There's nothing like a great sketch or challenge to get your creative juices flowing. I love Pinterest because you can search for tons and tons of ideas . sketches... whatever you need to get creating! This time I turned to Cardabilities  for my inspiration. I love their sketches ( and their scrappage sketch layouts ,too!!)  Here is the latest card sketch ....

And here's my card.............

I played around with my Crafters Workshop coffe stain stencils, Tim Holtz Distress stains, Prima fluid chalk inks and an old SU! polka dot stamp for the background. The label mat is a Waltzingmouse stamp and the sentiment is from Simple Stories ( inked with SU! Basic Grey) and the sequins and small flowers are from Prima and the larger flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts. The thread is my sewing stash .
This was a fun sketch to use... I'm sure I'll make another card using it for inspiration!!!

I hope you enjoyed my card.... don't forget to check out all the great DT cards and fab submissions over at Cardabilities!!
