Happiest girls layout

Hi, I am back again today with another post! This time I have a layout to share . Its of my two beautiful girls... it only seems like yesterday that they were little girls and now they are young ,beautiful women. I couldn't be more  proud of them!

I started off with a pretty floral paper from a Recollections paper stack. The photo was matted on leftover glitter polka dot paper , also from Recollections. I then used a large Prima Bloom Girl stencil called Gardenia , and some heavy Gesso . I used a variety of inks from Tim Holtz, CTMH and Stampin Up! to create some color around the girl and the edges of the page. An assortment of  Petaloo flowers and a blue leaf stickpin , a couple of happy face tickets  ( Jenni Bowlin) and a orange fabric diecut leaf ( Silhouette) , which I had cut for a previous sewing project. The title is a cutfile that I got from the Silhouette online store , and its cut on a brown wood grain paper ( Authentique), which does not show all that well in this pic . A few splatters of Glimmer Mist, a little bit of bling and this layout is done!!

I am entering this layout over at Color Me Scrappy for their color scheme challenge.

Don't you just love those fall colors!

Thanks for visiting my blog today- have a wonderful creative day!

My fav guys layout

Hi! I'm always on the lookout for great sketches to help me get my layouts started ( and finished !!!) and I found this one over at  Once Upon a Sketch .Check out their awesome sketch to and challenge to include numbers in your layout.

Here's my interpretation of the sketch:

I started off with a sheet of Authentique dp for my layout base and then grabbed some of my favorite stencils: Crafters Workshop for the chicken wire and stains and a Tim Holtz Dots Fade . The title was created using some old chipboard letters and the 2Fav was made with my Silhouette machine .Most of the elements are from Basic Grey , except the journaling pocket, which is a BoBunny tag pocket, which I stamped with CTMH and Simple Stories stamps. The metal arrows are from CTMH and the enamel hexagon dots are from Prima.

I love how quickly this layout came together... thanks to a great sketch!
Thanks for visiting my blog.... have a great day!

Shabby Chic - Vintage style layouts

Good morning! I have a few layouts to share with you today. I've been playing around with some techniques I've discovered lately. Gesso has become my new best scrappy tool! It seems it can go with just about any style , but it especially looks great with shabby chic - vintage styles.

Here's a couple of layouts I made in that style;

This page features papers from a Crate Paper collection ... I have 180 sheets of funky prints and beautiful florals to create with!!! I added some ephermera from Fancy Pants and pretty velevet flowers from Petaloo. I made my own hexagon mask with my Silhouette spritzed the page corners with a Heidi Swapp spray. I used another homemade circle stencil and added some more texture with a little Harvest Gold acrylic glaze and finally,I smudged Gesso all around the papers and on some of the elements.I just used my finger and dabbed tub and it directly in the gesso tub and then added it wherever!!! So simple! The bling is Prima and the pretty butterfly is a dollar store find!!

On to my next layout.......

I still have tons of pics from my European vacation last year , so I decided to add a bunch this layout. I know, you can only see two, the rest are in that cool BoBunny kraft bag! My touch of gesso here is a stencil from The Crafters Workshop - a chevron stencil. I used a few epoxy words/stars from Heidi Swapp and the word Trip was made with some fun chaulkboard Thickers. The cool retro-looking button is from October Afternoon. I made the flower from a cutfile I purchased at the Silhouette online store. The odds and ends of paper are from my overflowing stash of paper scraps. The key is a metal sticker from Walmart.

Finally, my last layout....

This one has lots and lots of stuff from my stash.... a K& Company  butterfly, Petaloo  and Wild Orchid flowers , a flourish made on my Silhouette, and Thickers. My favorite aspect of this layout is the mixed media tag. I just got a Gelatos kit in the mail this week and I couldn't wait to use them! After browsing Pinterest and YouTube I felt ready to try my hand at mixed media using these really cool color sticks . They were so much to use and easy, too!! I used gold, peach, pinks and yellows and blended them with a spray of water and my fingers!!!I then stamped a friendship quote ( CTMH set called You Are My Happy)with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I used gesso, again, to adhere it to the tag and directly over the words to soften the look and blend it in with the rest of the elements on the tag, which also has gesso daubed on them. A few pieces of bling , more flowers ,a punched bird (SU bird punch) and a ticket and a custom colored seam binding ribbon ( gelatos and water) for the finishing touch and this tag is complete!!

So that's a few more layouts I wanted to share with you- hope you enjoyed them! Until next time..... happy crafting!
