Silhouette Grad card

Hi all! Wow, 2 posts in 2 days- that must be a new record for me!!! I still have too much to do but I was asked to make a few grad cards for a friend who's daughter is graduating from high school this June so I just had to spend time in my craftroom!! :)

This is the first one I've made...

I've seen several versions of this style card on Pinterest and Splitcoast and I knew I had to make my own. I made my card a 5.75" square which I found to a bit too big for the cap and gown alone, so I added a custom strip- courtesy of my Silhouette and sketch pens. I purchased a grad cap/diploma background cutfile from the Silhouette online store , but used a green glitter pen to draw it  instead of cutting it out. It's hard to see in this pic , but it really does a nice subtle touch to the card front, trust me! I made a little diploma and adhered it to the front. The sentiment is from CTMH's Kudos set. The letters were made with the Silhouette as well, using a compueter font.

  Now, here's the inside....

This is a quote I found online and imported into  SD software and then converted to a cutfile..... really simple, too!! I absolutely love Dr. Seues quotes .... they suit any occasion, especially milestones like graduating. The mini grad cap is also from the Kudos stamp set. I cut this out in green and adhered it to black cardstock and then glued all those centers in each letter! It took me awhile to complete, but I love the effect!!

I'm entering this card over at Shopping Our Stash for their anniversary/graduation challenge.

That's one grad card done, now I'm off to get the others finished!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Boy's First Birthday card

Hi all! Has a month really come and gone since I last posted????? I've been so busy packing and getting things ready for the move to our new house , which I hope is just a couple of weeks away!!! My time does not feel like it's my own these days and I know soon I'll have to start packing my craftroom stuff up !!!! Thankfully, I'm only moving a short distance tisme and to a brand new house with a beautiful craftroom waiting to be created in!!! I can't wait!!! I'll post pics when I get there!!!
Until then, my posts may be limited.... I hope to change that soon!!!

I still find the time to check out Pinterest ( probably my fav place to hide from packing right now!!!)  I'm also  using my Silhouette more and more .... I don't know I ever created without it!!!! LOL For this card I used one of their freebie files....

Isn't this whale so darn cute??? I did all the cutting for this card with my Silhouette machine....using my computer fonts for the greeting and big number 1. Super easy, which really fits my lifestyle right now!

You can't see it all that well, but I used my brand spanking new sketch pens to draw a wave border on the blue mat. Love it!!!!!These things are just too easy to use and sooooo much fun, too!!!I had to wait weeks for them to arrive but they are worth the wait!! Now I just need to get the pen holder and I'm all set!!! Oh, and that birthday greeting is inked up in SU Real Red and is from a stamp I got at Micheals years ago. All the papers are from retired SU stock that needs to get used up from my stash. I even made the envelope from a SD file, with a matching liner.

Well, that's my card .... I hope to squeeze in another post or so soon!!
Thanks for visiting my blog today!
Have a great one!!
