Valentine's cards

Happy Friday everyone! It was a short school week for my kiddos this week- stormy weather has kept them home for the past two days! Everyone's getting a little cabin fever right now ! My son's DS is getting a good workout!!! I've managed to sneak some stamping time in and I even managed to get a card made for this week's Mojo Monday challenge.

Here's the sketch:

I used stamps from CTMH's Whooo's Your Valentine kit campaign . You get all this for just $10  when you spend only $30 form the catalogue!!

Click on Shop With Me to go to my online store !

So here's my cards I made.......

Isn't this little owl so cute? I'm sure I'll being using this little guy for more than just Valentine's cards.
The ric-rac ribbon is from some of my original stash that I had before I started cardmaking!!! Yikes , now that's a long time ago!!! I think I used it for trim for dresses for my girls when they were little (gosh, I'm really starting to feel old!!!!) But now it's found a good home in my papercrafts stash! I only have a wee bit left after this project! I'm gonna enter this card  over at Shopping Our Stash "Use Your Oldest Ribbon" challenge, since this ric-rac ribbon is over 12 years old!!!!
The polka dot paper is from SU ( retired Valentines dp 5+ years old!!) and the grey and pink cardstock is also SU. Lots of sewing on this card, too. I've must've been feeling nostalgic for my good ole sewing days when I saw the ric-rac!!! LOL

Now onto my second card:

This one follows the sketch over at Mojo more closely so I'm gonna enter it there!! I made a few changes , like old MM heart brads and some twine to the front. All the stamps are from the same CTMH set, including the inside sentiment........

It's hard to see in this photo, but there's a fun little heart stamped behind the you+me .

My Valentine's card stash is growing rapidly- but with cute stamps like these, it's so much fun to create, don't you think???

So, I manage to complete two challenges in one single day *woot-woot** I'm feeling quite accomplished!!!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by today.... have a great weekend!!

Winter scrappage and a few others.....

Hello!! My last posts have been all about cardmaking but I've been slowly making progress on my scrapbooking , although I don't think I'll ever get caught up! That's okay.. I like taking random photos from all over the place and scrapping them. Here's a few that I've been working on....

This page was done using elements from Echo Park's "Note To Self" This collection has something for every scrapper; there's lots of great journalling tags, titles, borders all with coordinating papers.

I saw a layout similar to this one on Pinterest ( oh, what a great site to waste time!!!). I just dug in my stash for some bright summer-y papers. The sunbursts are over the edges just a bit and stitiched on ( hard to see in this pic ) and the elements are from Basic Grey (flags) Pebbles Inc.( journalling pocket) and October Afternoon ( travel tag). I used a stamp from CTMH called "It's Your Day" ( from their Constant Compaign last summer) for the 'hello life' on the journalling pocket. The flower is from my stash. The felt flower is from a really old stash of American Crafts!

This layout features papers and elements from the "winter time" collection from We R Memory Keepers. I just adore the soft color palette of this collection. It's not a color I would typically select for winter scrappages , but this really works. I added a few pearl flourishes and some shiny, puffy Thickers and a metal rivet to the tag to add a little inetrest to the otherwise neutral theme. The cardstock ( Colonial White and Slate) are from CTMH. I only used two sheets of dp for this layout... one had the journalling tags and the other was the green piece with branches  that remind me of marshmallows on a stick! The polka dot is from  CTMH.

So that's three more layouts I can add to my albums...... hmmm, now to tackle that huge stack of photos just waiting to be turned into works of art!!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Girlfriends birthday card

Happy Monday !!! It's soooo cold and yucky out there- I just want to hide inside my cozy craftroom until springs come!!! Or at least until the sun shines again!! While I'm waiting for spring , I've been busy playing with some new stamps I got recently from Art Impressions. They have some pretty quirky cards that I just love , like their "girlfriends" line.... here's one I made:

Isn't that sentiment too funny??? I made this for my BFF ( whose BDay is still months away!!)and I think she will get a good chuckle out of this card! It makes me smile each time I look at it and we kinda have the same zany sense of humour!!!

I colored the gals with my Copics and grabbed a mulberry flower for the front ( a SU brad for the center) and the floral paper American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection ( Neapolitan) and the chevron dp is old retired SU! that's finally seeing some use! I even made a matching 5X7 envelope with this paper , using my Cricut and the Wild Card cartridge . I stamped "happy birthday" ( a Fiskars stamp) on the front in black ink.
The cardstock for the base and mats are from CTMH. The scalloped border is from SU, as well.

If you haven't already checked it out , don't forget to browse my Stampin' Up! stamps for sale ( click here) There's still many good stamps that are looking for a good home!!

Thanks for stopping  by today.... stay warm and have a great day!!

Belated Birthday Wishes card/ Friday Mashup

Update: If you're looking for some SU! stamps check this post out (here)

Hi again! I'm back with another post to share with you today. The ladies over at the Friday Mashup have a birthday themed challenge for us to play along with. Check it
out....

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:

  1. Make a project with a "Birthday Theme".
  2. Or Make a project using "Brads".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Birthday project with some brads".

I can never have enough birthday cards on hand,so this challenge is perfect for me!

Here's my Mashup card ( A bday card with brads).........

The sentiement for the ront is from Verve stamps , called Big Wish. The papers are from another of my Basic Grey mini dp pads ( What's Up collection). The little chipboard bird is from Prima - I looked for the product name but I couldn't find it. Hmm! The flower was free from a Verve promotion last summer. ( Did I mention how much I love free!!!!) The  flower brad is from my stash ( maybe AC, but am not sure) and the chevron embossing folder is from Stampin' UP!. The cardstock is from CTMH. I used my EK Success circle cutter for the striped circle and the scalloped circle was made with a Spellbinders die. The stamps were inked with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Here's a view of the inside.....

The birthday greeting is from Fiskars acrylic stamp set called Make A Wish Quotes and the Happy Bday stamp is from Verve's Big Wish set. I stamped a floral flourish (
SU's Precious Butterflies) with CTMH Sorbet ink
.
So that's it, my Fridasy Mashup card! Hope you've enjoyed it!
Thabks for stopping by.... stay warm wherever you and have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day card

Happy Friday! I have a Valentines Day  card to share with you . Since Valentine's Day is really not that far away , I'm trying to get a head start on my cardmaking. I made this card for my hubby.....

My DH gave me a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas , which I love!!! I purchased the "Key to my Heart" cutfile from the online file. I love that I can color this file right on my Silhouette  , print it (on my printer) and then cut it out on my SC . But for this particular card, I kept things pretty simple ( hubby likes CAS !), so I just cut it out on American Crafts black cardstock. This is my fav paper for both my Cricut and Cameo - it cuts so smoothly and doesn't leave a mess of  paper fibers behind. CTMH cardstock is also nice for these machines.
Anyhooo, back to my card! The vintage looking papers are from Glitz . The lace trim is from Melissa Frances and the inside greeting is a Tim Holtz stamp ( I love that it looks like I hand wrote it!!). The edges are inked with CTMH's Sorbet ink and finished off with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The metal hearts were purchased at Walmart and I think they are for jewelery making but I'd rather it on a card!! I diecut the doily heart on my Cricut using my go-to cartridge, Art Philosophy. Again I inked it up with Sorbet.

I'm entering this card over at Cut It Up for their In With The New Challenge #10.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today .....have a great weekend!!!

Tiddly Inks digi stamping and Mojo Monday 276

Hello crafty friends!
I've been having blogger issues lately - I couldn't upload any pics from computer to my blog!!! UGH!!! I think I have the problem is solved ( many frustrating hours later!!!!!)  While I missed the deadline on some of my fav challenge blogs , I still have time to play along with this week's Mojo Monday. Here's this week sketch by the talented Carole Burrage

I used a Tiddly Inks digi image for my card......

I think this image is called Hang In There , but I'm not 100% sure!!!
I used the following Copics markers for her:
B45 B95 B21 - Jeans
CTMH Creme Brulee dark/light alcohol ink markers - hair
E33 E23 E 17 - tree branch
CTMH Sweet Leaf - leaves
BV 000 BV02 BV11 BV08- Tshirt
E000 E21- skin

The outside sentiment is from Verve's Celebrating You set

The inside greeting is from Gina K Stamps called Friends inked in SU's Rich Razzleberry. The cardstock is from Stampin" Up! ( Rich Razzleberry , Soft Suede and Crumb Cake). The large border punch is from EK Success. The patterned ppers are from a Basic Grey  6X6 pad called What's UP.
I love these paper pads - very little paper wasteage!!!!Plus I can get a whole bunch of different styles super cheap! I get most of my papers at Two Peas In A Bucket. Love that place!!!!

Anyway... that's my Mojo  card! Thanks for stopping by!
