Treasure friendship card

Hi , I'm back with another card to share with you today. I've been pretty busy these past few weeks completing my wreath orders , but I'm in limbo right now waiting for my supplies to arrive! What better way to use my downtime than to take part in a few of my favorite challenges, right??

This week over at Frosted Designs, we are challenged to use splatter on our projects.. yes!!!! I love adding splashes of color to my cards and layouts!! The DT has some great projects to get your creative mojo going!
I'm using the current sketch over at Mojo Monday as the starting point for my card... here's the sketch;

Isn't it such a fun sketch?? Love it!!!

This is what I came up with for both challenges..........

I used leftover papers from Prima Time Traveller and My Mind's Eye Portabella Road collections . I mixed some Primary Elements by LuminArte in Emperor's Gold with Prima Art basics 3D Gloss Gel and then stencilled the grunge part of a Prima stencil along sides of the dark paper and then because I still quite abit of the mixture leftover , I grabbed my Tim Holtz  Doily stencil and covered the smallest mat. In RL this gold looks stunning, I assure you! It looks rather orange-y here, but it is much softer and has a very lovely golden shine. I had to stamp, of course, so I used a grungy background stamp from Crafty Individuals on the second mat and then I stamped randomly a word script ( Prima) over the same mat and on the top layer., using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. The lovely flowers are brand new to my stash , Magnolia  flowers. The butterfly and word stickers and ephemera are Tim Holtz Idea-ology . The burlap circle is from a scrap of burlap that I modpodged , cut out and inked the edges. I outlined the words , and just about everything else with a watered down brown Gelato color stick. Finally, I splattered the entire card with  white Gesso and this card is done!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Think Pink layout

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have a layout to share today... it's a style that I haven't tried in a long time... a pink themed layout. I made this page for Frosted Designs Think Pink challenge, and was it ever a challenge for me!! I searched through my stash till I found enough elements to start this page. take a look;

I started off with Teresa Collins papers from her Summer Stories collection. The chevron stencil was done first with gesso but I wanted it to pop a bit more so I added some Tim Holtz  Distress Paint in Brushed Pewter... which looks so much better in RL than this photo!! Most of the elements are also from the same Teresa Collins collection... so nice to have one collection to complete a page!!!

That's my Think Pink layout... hope you enjoyed it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Thinking of you Card ... an embossed embossing technique

Hi and welcome to my blog! I love trying new techniques for papercrafting and this week over at The Friday Mashup they have a challenge for us to try  heat embossing on a dry embossed card... there's a link for those who haven't tried this technique yet.
Here's the info:

This week's Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project with an "Antique Style, element or theme".
  • Create a project using the "Embossed Embossing technique" (tutorial) .
  • or Mash it Up! and create an "Antique project using the Embossed Embossing Technique".

I'm combining my card with the current  Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs which is to use recycled materials and homemade flowers.

This is my card for both challenges........

I had lots of fun with this technique!!! First , I embossed a piece of leftover ledger paper with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and then used my brayer to layer some Versaink before sprinking  TH embossing powder in Old Paper and then heat set it. To give it a more aged look, I stenciled some stains and then distressed and inked the edges. This certainly has an antique feel to it already. I made some flowers using a Stampin Up! punch for the larger flowers and my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge for the smaller ones. The sentiment is an oldie from Close To My Heart called Thoughtful Seasons. My recycled items are some cheesecloth ,some dark brown hemp and buttons. To finish up the vintage look, I added a metal key and flower and a few gemstones.

That's my card for today... thanks for stopping by!

Pure Joy layout

Hi again! I have a layout to share with you today. My oldest daughter loves our Aussie - mix dog and he loves her too! I snapped this photo one evening while we were all enjoying a warm evening by the fire. Of course, I knew I would have to scrap it one day.

I used the current challenge over at Frosted Designs ( use chevrons on your project)  and CSI current case file 135   to get my layout started. I kept the layout pretty ... I really wanted to keep the photo the central focus. I stenciled chevrons ( The Crafter's Workshop) alongside the picture and on the top. I added a few rhinestone chevrons and some chevron washi tape , 'cause I love them!!! I stamped "too much fun" word bubble and added a pure joy vellum title. A few flowers ,a clear photo overlay, some bling and buttons and this page is done!!!

Thanks for stopping by... have a wonderful creative day!

It's a wonderful life layout

Good morning! I'm back to share another layout with you. This one was inspired  by the current sketch at Sketchabilities.... take a look:

I just love everything about this sketch!! It allows me to play with my inks, stencils and paper, lots of paper! Here's my take on the sketch:

For more inspiration to complete this layout I followed the current Friday challenge at Frosted Designs which was to use flowers and stitching on a layout. Hmm, lets see, do I love flowers ??? YES!!! And stitching, too, so this challenge was super fun to take part in!!

My layout started off with a simple piece of cardstock... inked up with Prima fluid chalk resist ink ( goes on like a dream!!!) ,splattered some gold Glimmer Mist about and then stamped with an old Stampin' Up! weathered background stamp ( removed from bulky wooden block and now I love it!!) and some Stamper' s Anonymous music notes stamp and then stencil with a brick pattern that I made with my Silhouette machine. Next come the papers... all Teresa Collins ( love her vintage style sooo much!!!) I used papers from her Vintage Finds collection, which I have in a 6X6 paper pad... cut them out in various sizes, inked them and even made a few flowers and tags with leftover scraps. The mini alpha stickers and gold border strips are from her Summer Stories collection. Oh yeah, and for the stitching part, well that's on my sparkly border strip, and the bingo papers , plus I randomly adhered some black thread around the corner. The chipboard title and flower are Prima ( inked too)and the rest was found in my stash. Despite all the details and layers, this page came together in under an hour thanks to great inspiration from Frosted Designs and Sketchabilities!!!! Gotta love that!

Anyway... that's my layout! The sun is shining and I'm off to enjoy it!! Thanks for stopping by!!

a few more layouts.......

Hi all! I just have a few more layouts to share with you. My scrapping mojo has been limited with the beautiful weather we've had this past week , but since today we are recovering from a summer storm brought on by hurricane Arthur, I decided to take advantage and post a few pages.

This one was made using papers from one of my favorite companies, Graphic 45. The collection is called Botanical Tea and I just love the vintage feel , which went nicely with some paper birds and flowers I had left over from K& Co. I used a stamp from CTMH that suits this page perfectly- hanging out with good friends!

The next layout I made for a  challenge from Frosted Designs. They provided a great sketch to play with:

You have to use a diecut in your layout... so I made mine with my Silhouette machine of course!

The triangles were cut out of the white cardstock and then I added some cute Crate papers behind each one. My Crafters Workshop stencils were used for
the splatters and ring marks.I sprayed some and inked others.... so simple!!! The bits and pieces of life tag is from Simple Stories and the word Delight and butterflies are from Heidi Swapp epoxy collection. The banners are from Fancy Pants Designs.

Thanks for stopping by .... have a great day!
