Cooking With Cricut challenge #79

Make Me Laugh- that's the theme for this week's challenge over at Cooking with Cricut.

I made this card for a little boy who'll be celebrating his 6th birthday this weekend.I used the Mini Monsters cartridge and the stamp was purchased at Two Peas In A Bucket. The polka dots on the dp are fuzzy, I think  it gives this card just the right amount of texture!
Well, that's my card for this week's challenge.... for more smiles, check out this week's challenge!
Thanks for stopping by.... have a great crafty day!

Two Pocket Treat Holder and matching mini card

Hello! I have a cute and really simple project to share with you today. I've seen these two pocket treat holders on several  blogs but I really like Angie's ( Chic' n Scratch) tutorial. She made hers a little larger, which I prefer. Here's mine...

I had this very spring- like paper in my stash that I thought would be perfect for this project. It's very sturdy and I like that it's solid on one side and plaid on the other. I used the leftover piece to make the matching 3X3 card. The butterflies  were from an old Fiskars stamp  and the setiment is from Verve stamp set  Sweet Treats.

You can watch Angie's video tutorial here.

These were so simple to make,I've already got a bunch made!!!
Hope you enjoyed my card/treat holder today!
Have a great crafty day!!!

Easter shaped card

Hi, I'm back again to share another Easter project with you. I recently purchased a cutfile from SVG Cuts to make a few Easter projects. ( You'll need a compatible program for your electronic cutter like SCAL). I was looking for a carrot shaped treat box , which was included with this file. but I fell in  love with this lil chick card.....

I made this card using scraps I found in my craftroom..... so easy! You could even use the chick for a scrappage, or maybe even to embellish a basket. I scaled it to different sizes for variuos projects. Just let your imagination go wild!!!!  ( Wouldn't it be cute on a little girls Tee??)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my little card.... thanks for stopping by today!!!
Have a great rest of your weekend!!!!

Cricut Word Collage : Easter home decor

Hello! I made this framed art from the Word Collage cartridge.I sized it to fit a 8X10 frame , using my Gypsy. I used the feature to block out certain words and then cut them in the different colors. Glueing each letter down was a bit time consuming( just used the cutout as a stencil) but I love how it turned out!

So there's a quick and easy Easter decor craft! Hope you enjoy!

Friday Mashup : Quilted Card

"When life throws you scraps......."
Now doesn't that get you thinking???? Of course, paper come sto mind , but what about quilts?T this week Lisa , one of the uber-talented ladies at Friday Mashup, is encouraging us to do a little spring cleaning ...... of our stash! And while your at it, why don't you try out  quilting on your cards?

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Quilted Cards Technique".
  2. Or Make a project using "Something that's been forgotten (sitting in your stash forever)".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Quilted card with something you've forgotten about".

You can find the link to a tutorial on quilting here.

Ok, I have a confession..... I am  absolutely awful at quilting!!! I tried , oh  how I tried, but I can never seem to make all those scraps of fabric look like anything like a pattern!!! Sooo, when I saw this challenge , I was doubtful I'd like paper quilting , but, whattya know! It's easy peasy!!! I found a link on SCS for a variety of quilting patterns and selected this pattern called  Southern Pine. Next I searched through my retired stash of Stampin'Up! dsp. Here's what I made....

This reminds me of Grandma's old fashioned quilt. The hardest part of this quilt was finding coordinating paper! I used  a stamp set from Flourish called Motherly Love for the sentiment.
The papers are all retired SU from variuos dsp packs. This technique is such a great way to use up all your old papers.... I'm already planning another card!

That's my Friday Mashup card ...... thanks for stopping by !!!

A birthday card for my godchild

Hello! My godchild's birthday was last week and I'm only just getting her card made !! ( bad, bad me!!!) I used a digi stamp for the cupcake which I got at The Paper Shelter . Once again I'm playing with my Copics for the coloring --- it seems like I never have enough colors to get the shading just right!!! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to buy more *U* . I also dug through my cartridges and found this number ( on Sweet Treats cart)......

Can you guess which birthday she's celebrating???????

I added paper glaze to the dots on the cupcake - it looks so much better in real life! I coated the number 2 with the glaze as well, but , again, the pic doesn't do it justice.

Here's a photo of the inside of the card...........

I'm entering this card at Crafty Creations Challenge for their photo inspiration challenge .

Thanks for stopping by my blog today..... have a great crafty day!!

Jingle Belles : Neutral Noel

Yay, it's Friday!!! We're halfway through the current challenge at Jingle Belles - Neutral Holidays. Lauren and Stef gave us a gorgeous photo to help jumpstart our creativity...

We can use the colors as an inspiration or the patterns or whatever inspires you! I was inspired by the peacefullnes of the images.....

I found this digi image while surfing the web - you can find her at The Paper Shelter. I colored her with my Copics in soft shades of blue and I colored the doily to match. The snowflakes were made with my Cricut , using It's A Child's Year cartridge. I cut them at 1", 3/4" and 1/2".The paper is from an old Michaels Christmas stack and the ribbon was purchased at a local craft store. The sentiment is from a SU hostess set :The More The Merrier ( retired ).

Here's a closeup of the girl- I'm still learning how to shade with my Copics and I still have lots to learn! But still, it's so  much just learning!!!

So this is my card for the  Jingle Belles challenge - hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for stopping by.... have a great weekend!

Shopping Our Stash 43: Food or Beverage

Hi again! This week Shopping Our Stash has a fun challenge for us to play along with!

This week our challenge is to raid your stash and uncover those items that are food or beverage related- think coffee, tea, cakes, kitchen fare, anything related to food or drink will work!
Bugaboo has such a great selection of funny digi stamps- I especially love the Stella line! This one suits me to a tee- I am so not a morning person!
I used some dp from Stampin' Up! and colored the image with my Copic markers to match. I had to play around with the sentiment size as I kept printing it way too big!!! Ah, but I did get it the size I wanted and it fit neatly inside the oval punch, too!

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by Shopping Our Stash and check the DT beautiful samples!

Banner Birthday- shaped birthday card

Hello!  I love making shaped cards - my  Gypsy and Cricut get lots of use for these types, especially. I saw a banner shaped card while web surfing and I thought "I can make that!", so I pulled out my Gypsy and made my own banner shape. Talk about easy!!!! Simply select a banner/pennant shape from one of your cartridge files and weld two  identical shapes together .... really , how much easier does it get??? Plus, I can make it as big ( or small) as I want.

I even used my Gypsy to make the layers  for the card front. The Create-A-Cupcake was the perfect size for this card ( a wee bit smaller than the A5 size). I added Stickles for the sprinkles and matted it on a punched circle.A wee bit of Calypso Coral ribbon on the top  to finish off this super simple card!

Well, that's my shaped card- hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for stopping by my blog toady- have a great crafty day!!

Digi stamping: Bugaboo stamps

Sometimes a girl just needs to laugh out loud!!

Good morning! I have a quick post today... I'm off to watch my DD play in a basketball tourney! I originally made this card for a digi challenge but just didn't get enough time  edit it and post it. But since it is all ready to go.......

I got this image from Bugaboo Stamps .
I colored her with my watercolor pencils and used an alphabet stamp to create the inside"Floor!". A drink glass from SU's Cheers To You set was stamped in the same shade of purple ( hope you can see it in the pic) and I doodled a circle around the word. I traced a circle shape and then free handed a few squiggly lines... so easy!!!

Yup, this image makes me laugh out loud!! I just had to own it... there are some of my gal pals who will have a good chuckle when they recieve this card!

Hope it makes you smile, too!! Go check out BugabooStamps  for more great digi stamps!

Thanks for stopping by.... have a great crafty day!!!!

The Friday Mashup : Lucky You card

H i again, I'm back with another post. I was visiting one of my fav blogs, The Friday Mashup and just had to participate in this week's challenge!
So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project for "St. Patrick's Day".
  2. Or Make a project using "at least 2 Punches".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project for "St. Patrick's day using your Punches".

Sounds like fun doesn't it????!!! Of course, my card is a totally green, Patty's themed card!
Here it is.....

I pulled out an oldie, but definetely one of my favs, "Celtic Knots" form Stampin' Up!. I think this only gets used for St. Patrick's day crads or if I'm making something for my SIL, whose Irish. I love the details on the cross image. The only thing missing from this set is a sentiment!! I grabbed another retired  set " Afterthoughts" for the Lucky You sentiment. The paper is from my stash of " how long ago did I buy this stuff???" !!! The design looked kinda celtic to me .
For my punches, I used an oval for the cross and a heart punch for the three mini hearts to create a shamrock stickpin. The seam binding is from SU and the doily is leftover from another project.

Well, I'm sure happy to have my Mashup card finished in time!!
Thanks for stopping by... have a great crafty day!!
