Happy New Years!

Hi all! Can you believe it's the last day of 2014 ???! Wow, what a busy six weeks it's been!  My craft room was a glittery disaster area! I managed to find some time last week to tackle the mess, and dig out my paper crafting supplies! They were hid under rolls and rolls of decomesh and ribbon.... but now they regained their rightful place in my room! *** happy dance*** I still am looking for my creative mojo , but I did get a few pages completed. Take a look...

I used Prima North Woods collection papers, which I  randomly stamped with a Tim Holtz Christmas stamp (Christmas Blueprint). For texture I used Finnabair /Prima Texture Paste in Platinum Crackle and a custom made polka dot stencil ( Silhouette machine), and then splatters of red and tinsel spray ink ( Heidi Swapp) and then more stenciling! this time I used Tim Holtz  tarnished brass Distress Stain on a 6X6 The Crafters Workshop stencil ( mini sketch grid). Finally, a few flowers from Prima and embellishments from Teresa Collins, Zva rhinestone flourishes   and sequins from an unknown source. Bits of glitter were added, thanks to Wink of Stella brush pens,on the reindeer, snowflake , flowers and the pine branches . I'm not much for journaling ( I know, terrible!!!) so I just added  Thicker numbers for the year.

This page was actually started three months ago! I love Graphic 45 paper lines , especially this one ... Couture. It didn't need much, just a few Prima chipboard accents and flowers from Petaloo and a vintage looking feather from Bella Blvd. I finished it up by adding a few rhinestones ( adhered with my Silhouette heat tool) and a glitter tape  strip by American Crafts. Of course, there's a bit of stenciling on the base layer!!

I hope you have a wonderful New Year's !!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Hi there!! Well, the last time I posted I was getting ready for Halloween and now it's a month later and Christmas is just a little over a month away!!! Time sure does fly by fast, especially when I have over 50 wreaths and centerpieces to create!! These days there's not much time for papercrafting .... I've been busy with my wreath making.

Here's  few samples of what I made for custom orders .....

I love burlap ... and this one has lots of it! The pinecone printed ribbon with a little glitter was just right for this wreath that can be left up all winter. I made six of these this year!

The golds and browns of this decomesh wreath look so much better in real life! a few pumpkins and fall flowers finish this wreath off.

This was custom order .. love the golds and ivory of this centerpiece. You can also see some of my fav pinecone burlap ribbon peeking throughout this project!

Just one of the dozen or more fall swags I made this year! They were a big hit!

I made this wreath for my SIL this past September. I love the traditional theme of it ... and she did too!

I only made one grapevine fall wreath... found some inspiration on Pinterest for this one.

This was giant wreath! Lots of glittery ornaments, flex tubing , decomesh and a vintage looking metal sign! It sold very quickly!

My dad helped make these candy cane wreath forms with coathangers!! They were a fun alternative to traditional shape wreaths and I loved making them! Maybe I'll actually make one for myself next year!

This fall I designed and made nearly 100 wreaths ,swags and centerpieces! I was super busy all fall, and I only just barely made my own Christmas door swag at the very last minute!

My craft room is covered in glitter, ornaments and lots and lots of rolls of decomesh!!! I can't wait to have some me time so I can work on my Xmas cards and maybe even a scrappage or two!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.... have a wonderful creative day!!

Thinking of you card

Hi and welcome to my blog. Have you checked out the latest sketch from Cardabilities- its another great one! Of course, the DT has great samples for your inspiration too!

Here is the current sketch:

And this is my interpretation of the sketch:

I started off with a charcoal grey cardstock base and then a 6X6 dp from Recollections. I used a diecut from Silhouette , which I inked with Prima Fluid chalk inks ( dusty attic) and edged with Tim Holtz stain ( vintage photo). I cut a piece of the flourish and adhered it to the bottom of my card, then added a few Prima small flowers and a larger Petaloo flower, a couple of beaded stickpins and some sequins. The sentiment is from Verve stamps called Small Phrases. Oh, and  used my favorite distressing tool from Prima to rough up the edges of my dp. This card was quick and simple!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Have a wonderful creative day!!

Happiest girls layout

Hi, I am back again today with another post! This time I have a layout to share . Its of my two beautiful girls... it only seems like yesterday that they were little girls and now they are young ,beautiful women. I couldn't be more  proud of them!

I started off with a pretty floral paper from a Recollections paper stack. The photo was matted on leftover glitter polka dot paper , also from Recollections. I then used a large Prima Bloom Girl stencil called Gardenia , and some heavy Gesso . I used a variety of inks from Tim Holtz, CTMH and Stampin Up! to create some color around the girl and the edges of the page. An assortment of  Petaloo flowers and a blue leaf stickpin , a couple of happy face tickets  ( Jenni Bowlin) and a orange fabric diecut leaf ( Silhouette) , which I had cut for a previous sewing project. The title is a cutfile that I got from the Silhouette online store , and its cut on a brown wood grain paper ( Authentique), which does not show all that well in this pic . A few splatters of Glimmer Mist, a little bit of bling and this layout is done!!

I am entering this layout over at Color Me Scrappy for their color scheme challenge.

Don't you just love those fall colors!

Thanks for visiting my blog today- have a wonderful creative day!

Feeling Wicked, for Halloween!

Hi and welcome to my blog! I knew October was gonna be a busy month for me but I really didn't expect to go three weeks between posts!! I have been busy crafting, especially Halloween crafts. This year, I added to my décor with a Halloween wreath. Take a look:

I love this sign ( I found at local $$ store!) ..... some days it suits my mood perfectly!!! lol  I used deco mesh( leftovers from last year) and accents ( sign , hat , black leaves) all found at out local dollar store to make this quick and easy wreath. The best thing about it, its  durable enough for our windy fall days!!! The , work wreath form, flextubing and purple ornaments were bought at Michaels.

I am entering this wreath over at Shopping Our Stash for their Halloween challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful creative day!!

Sketchabilities #124 ... All boy layout

Hi and welcome to my blog! Can you believe it's the first of October already?? The kids have been back to school for a month now and now that the days are much cooler, I'm finally getting some time to do a bit of scrapping. I love the latest sketch from Sketchabilities.... it has so many of my favorite elements .

Here's the sketch:

I pulled out my Hexagon dies from Spellbinders, stencils from The Crafter's Workshop, Thickers and boy themed papers from Simple Stories for my layout. take a look......

Lots of ink and sprays were used for my page... this page has black Gesso, Ranger sprays, October Afternoon spray, Prima Fluid Chalk inks and some good 'ole blue acrylic paint, watered down and splattered throughout the page! The "boys rule" tag and banners were fussy cut from a coordinating pieces of paper from the Simple Stories Aweso{ME} collection. The gear was cut out on my Silhouette machine. I had almost as much fun creating this layout as my boy had getting stuck in the mud!

That's my Sketchablities layout .... hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for dropping by my blog today.... have a wonderful creative day!!

T'is the Season....

Hi and welcome to my blog! Jingle Belles current challenge is called Three Kings, which I though was going to include gold, myrhh ( hmmm, did I even spell that right??) and frankenscense ( another word I've  probably misspelled!!!) , but nope, I was wrong! This week's challenge is to use three different patterned papers from your stash. Well since my Xmas paper is in desperate need of purging this is  perfect timing for me!!!

Here's my card ( with 3 papers from my stash , of course)......

Two of my papers( background and red strip) are from Stampin' Up! and the third ( brown) is from Crate Paper. The sentiment tag is from Heidi Swapp and the cute little girl is from Little Miss Muffet Stamps , colored with my Copic markers. I fussy cut the girl out, added some green rhinestones ( Silhouette brand), and some Liquid Applique , puffed up with my heatgun, for her hat pompom and coat trim. The flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts - originally it was a light blue, but I misted it with some Ranger Delyusions ink ( Cherry Pie) and added a bit of Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distress Stain to the edges. For a bit of greenery , I added a few twigs of pine leaves cut from my Silhouette ( for another project) and a few Doodlebug Designs sequins to finish the card off.

I had a lot of fun participating in this challenge...and I just love how my card turned out!!!

Thanks for stopping by.... have a wonderful creative day!

hanging out layout

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have a fun summer layout to share with you today. Last summer my niece and nephew visited for several weeks - we had so much fun with them. This layout features two silly cousins having fun together!

I played along with the current sketch over at Let's get Sketchy blog for my layout. Here's the sketch....

Instead of a photo strip . I added a strip of pretty floral paper for my page, but I followed the sketch design for the rest of my layout.

I used paper and stickers from Crate Paper, stencils from The Crafters Workshop, enamel dots /stars from October Afternoon, chipboard stickers and ink from Prima, washi tape from Bella Blvd and a flower from Petaloo Flowers and stickers from Doodlebug Design. That's a lot of brands on one layout, but they all went so nicely together!!

Thanks for stopping by .... have a wonderful creative day!!

Happy thoughts for your birthday

Hi and welcome to my blog! It's been awhile since I lasted posted..... almost a month! The kids started back to school at the beginning of the month  and a few days later I had a mini vacation visiting my sister in law across the country! I started a new project for me, wreath making, and it turned out that I made and sold several of them! Here's a sample of one I made....

I made eight of these and a bunch of fall and Halloween wreaths! That left little time for papercrafting!!! I have a whole bunch of scrap goodies that I purchased on my trip that I've been just dying to play with!!         Soon....** sigh***

I managed to spare a few  moments to play along with the current card sketch over at Cardabilities. Here is the latest sketch:

And here is my interpretation of this sketch........

I started off with a kraft cardstock base and then a chocolate brown cs layer. My patterned paper is from Basic Grey called Paper Cottage, which I distressed and inked. I used a chicken wire stencil (The Crafter'sWorkshop) and some gold embossing paste ( Dreamweaver Stencils;Studio 490).... I love the texture of this paste. For a bit more color, I splattered inks from Ranger's  Dylusions line in yellow and gold. The journaling block( distressed and inked) and flower are from Prima and the sentiment is rom C.C. Designs. I adhered a scarp of burlap , just because !!! A few Doodlebug Designs sequins and my card is finished!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.... have a wonderful creative day!!!

A Perfect Memory layout

Hi and welcome to my blog! I recently got an order of scrap goodies and one of my favorite things was the Time Traveller paper collection from Prima.

Prima - Time Travelers Memories - 12x12 Collection Kit - 814168
This collection has stunning vintage papers, tags, journaling tags and so much more... I love it!! It was perfect for my layout documenting our family vacation to Fortress Loiusbourg recently. I used Sketchabilities  sketch # 121 to get my layout started.

 Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout ......

This layout was pretty basic- I used a sheet from the collection that had some really cool vintage elements on it. I only added a few details to the base; a bit of black Gesso over a stencil ( The Crafter's Workshop) and then used a Distress Stain (Vintage Photo) over another stencil ( chicken wire) . The background paper didn't really need much more. The title, tags , stickers and mats are all from the same collection. I adhered a few Prima and Petaloo flowers , a metal sticker , a stickpin and some seam binding ribbon for the tags.

I can't wait to create some more layouts with this fabulous paper collection! Thanks for visiting my blog today- I hope you enjoyed my layout! Have a wonderful creative day!

A Bokeh card

Hi again! I'm back with another card to share with you . Here's the current challenge over at The Friday Mashup:

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project with the "Bokeh Technique".  Link to technique here.
  • Create a project with "Die Cuts".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "Bokeh project using a Die Cut".

 Here's my card:

I made my card using a very simple and quick from Bokeh technique that I found on Splitcoaststampers ( click here for the tutorial). I used a cityscape stamp from Hero Arts  and then created my Bokeh background using three shades of yellow ink. I fussy cut the stamped buildings and popped a few out for a more dimensional look. I stamped a banner and sentiment ( can't remember the set name!! )for the front. This card was pretty simple but I really love the Bokeh effect.

That's my card for the Friday Mashup .... thanks for looking!

Such a Flake card

Hi and welcome to my blog! I've been thinking about the current challenge at Jingle Belles for the past week ,trying to come up with something . The challenge is to make something for someone who maybe  doesn't celebrate Christmas. I was looking through my stamps and found these cute stamps from CC Designs Stamps ( check out their blog) and I knew I found my mojo !

Here's my card......

Isn't she such a cutie??? I colored her with my Copic markers  and added some glitter for her fur trim. I found some snowflake paper, a transparency snowflake in my stash and I added an embossed strip of white cardstock and a bit of glitter tape and my card is done!!

Pure Joy layout

Hi again! I have a layout to share with you today. My oldest daughter loves our Aussie - mix dog and he loves her too! I snapped this photo one evening while we were all enjoying a warm evening by the fire. Of course, I knew I would have to scrap it one day.

I used the current challenge over at Frosted Designs ( use chevrons on your project)  and CSI current case file 135   to get my layout started. I kept the layout pretty ... I really wanted to keep the photo the central focus. I stenciled chevrons ( The Crafter's Workshop) alongside the picture and on the top. I added a few rhinestone chevrons and some chevron washi tape , 'cause I love them!!! I stamped "too much fun" word bubble and added a pure joy vellum title. A few flowers ,a clear photo overlay, some bling and buttons and this page is done!!!

Thanks for stopping by... have a wonderful creative day!

Happy birthday my Friend....

Hi , welcome to my blog. The current challenge at Shopping Our Stash is to use chipboard from your stash. This is the perfect challenge for me - I have tons of chipboard leftover from projects ... at least three years or more!! I decided to use a chipboard frame for my card.... take a look:

I  covered the frame and small flower in Prima  blue metallic chalk and then it with Perfect Pearls Mist in  Blue Raspberry. When it was dry I used a stencil ( only for the frame)from The Crafters Workshop ( Sketch Grid) and applied a layer of crackle paste and misted it again with the blue mist.  The metallic sheen doesn't really show that well in the photo but it's quite nice in person! I also misted the chipboard owl in Bronze perfect Pearls mist ... again , I wish you could see how glimmer it is!!!My dp is from Lost and Found 3 collection from My Mind's Eye. The paper has glitter , so it really complements all accent pieces well. Finally, I dug around my stash and found some old rub-on sentiments from Stampin' Up! . Lots of old stuff got used here!!!

That's my card for this week's challenge... hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by... have a wonderful creative day!

Cousins layout

Hi and welcome to my blog!  One of my most important tools for scrapbooking is to start with a good sketch . It gets my ideas flowing and helps me complete my pages so much quicker than if I started  from scratch! I used this great sketch from Kreative Concepts for my layout dedicated to my DD and her youngest cousin, who spent several weeks with us last summer.

Check out the sketch :

Sketch Challenge #28

I already had my photo of the girls printed so I went with just one for this layout. take a look.....

I started with a paper from Recollections ( Michaels brand) called Portobello Road

This is beautiful collection of subtle hues of blues, browns and creams with glitter treatments on several of the papers. For my layout I used a bluish green page that had a subtle script. For a pop of color and to follow along with the sketch, I stamped hexagons in a variety of oranges, browns and blues . I used Honeycomb Flair from CTMH - this was a set I bought when I was still a Demo but it hadn't seen ink until now!! I love all the patterns that come in this set... so much versatility!!! I also stamped a mini title on the side with another fav CTMH set called All the Details- Everyday Life. My larger title was created using two sets of Thickers and for a bit of interest . I splattered ink from October Afternoon  Sprinklers in Crepe Paper and paper Doily. These inks are so rich in color that even the white pops out  clearly from a page! To finish off my layout I adhered some sequins (Prima) and that's it-my page is finished!! I love that it took under half an hour from start to finish for this layout!

I hope you enjoyed my layout ... thanks for dropping by my blog today! Have a wonderful creative day!!

Hi and welcome to my blog. The sketch over at Mojo Monday inspired me to create a clean and simple card , for a change!    Here's the sketch.....

Here's my take on this week's sketch:

I used some papers and glitter ribbon from American Crafts , flowers from Fancy Pants, enamel dots from Prima and a sentiment from CTMH set called Card Chatter-Sympathy. Quick and easy! Gotta love those kinda cards!!!

The Mojo ladies have some really terrific cards up already for your viewing pleasure - go check them out!!!
