Getting caught up on scrapbooking ... afew 12X12 layouts

Hi all!! This post is dedicated to my long overdue task of scrapbooking. While I don't scrap chronologically, I am trying to get caught up on all my last years' pages .....the pics just keep sitting there on my desk waiting to be transformed into memory pages. So , I put away my stamps and got down to work and here's what I have done and ready for their albums so far..........

This layout really uses a lot of my stash from flowers to papers and even a wooden key. The  word cherish was an old Heidi Swapp stamp I bought a very long time ago and I am just now taking it out of the package!! The damask is from a cheap-o stencil ( have no clue when and where I got it!!!!) that I misted with Glimmer Mist. I used a darker blue Glimmer Mist to add splashes of color throughout the pages. There's some stamping, inking, misting ,distressing, and even sewing on this page. It took awhile to get all the elements together and laid out , but  I think the result was worth it!

Here's a close up of some the details... oh yeah, I almost forgot, I made a custom stencil ( large polka dots)with my Silhouette and used it to add texture to the sides with Dreamweaver Embossing paste.

MY next layout was much simpler... a cutfile from Silhouette and a bit of colored cardstock to make the words pop. A few embellishments and this page is done!!!

I played around with my inks and stamps for this layout. Lots of layering here with shades of blue, brown and orange. Most of the stamps used here are from Close To My Heart.

Finally , here's my shabby chic inspired layout. This page is just layers of ink, stamps and a bit of texture paste for the chevron on the sides. Another neglected Heidi Swapp stamp , a crochet flower, some ephemera from K&Co , some vintage lace trim and the page is complete.

Here's a close up of the chevron stencil I used( Crafters Workshop brand) . I used texture paste which has a slight sheen to it and adds just a lovely amount of texture to the page and since it's white , it doesn't take away from the focal point, which is this so sweet photo my  godchild.

Well, that's 4 pages down .... just hundreds more to go!!!!! lol

Thanks for stopping by my blog today... I hope the rest of your day is fabulous and creative!!!

Digital stamping & yoga

Good Monday morning!! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.... ours was stormy, but that's okay, I get to have some guilt free crafting time when I'm stuck inside!!! Recently I discovered yoga and I just love it.... I get to spend quality time with my two girls while doing something that works my body and relaxes my mind!! yay!! Unfortunately, our yoga instructor has to go away at the end of next month for a few months and I know I'm really gonna miss those weekly sessions.

I found this cute digi image on Etsy and made her a Nameste card.......

The Om Aum symbol was created from an image I found online and then imported to my Silhouette. I colored the girl with my Copic markers , added a few flourishes and some hemp twine and that's it. I plan on adding a traditional Hindu farewell inside  Really, this is just a nice clean and simple card, I hope she likes it!!

Thanks for stopping by mu blog today... have a
great one!

A Wryn Valentine's Day card

Good afternoon! I have a cute little card to share with you today. Lately , I've been spending time coloring up images ( digi and inked) with my Copics. One of my favorite images to color are the sweet little Wryn girls from Tiddy Inks.

I used this week's challenge from Friday Mashup for my inspiration :

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the Colors "Coastal Cabana, Real Red & Crumb Cake."
  2. Create a project using "Hearts & Arrows. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using "the above colors along with Hearts & Arrows.

Here's my card:

I created the card base using my Silhouette and a purchased cutfile . This heart and arrow comes in a set of 7 different varieties- perfect for scrappers and cardmakers alike. I followed the color combo as close as I could -not sure if this is the right shade blue, but it's the closest I have!! The sentiment is an old retired Stampin' Up! hostess set.

The digi image came with a matching sentiment , which I also colored with my Copic markers.
I used the cutout of the arrow for the inside  and that's it... my card is finished!!!

This card is being sent to my sweet godchild .. I hope she likes it!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.... have a great rest of your day!!

Family mini album

Hi, and happy Saturday! Hope you're having a great start to your weekend. Today I wanted to share a special mini album I made for a very dear friend of mine. Since I moved here I don't get to see her near as much as I would like , but the times we do get together are special. I am honored to be the godmother to both of her precious girls. Recently, Natasha and her family had their family pics taken and she was so kind as to send me a copy of them and since she's so busy working full time and being a mommy to two little girls , I really wanted to do something special for her. This is what I made to send out to her....

I started off with this great wooden mini album from Heidi Swapp which I spritzed with some Tattered Angels glimmer mist. I kept the cover simple as I know Tash doesn't like things too blingy , so I just stamped the date , added a mini banner ( courtesy of CTMH products) and spelled their name out with Thickers letters, added a couple of buttons and a crochet heart and that's it!You can't see the stamped letters in this pic but they do look quite lovely in RL.

Again, I grabbed more CTMH stamps , my Cricut and Artiste cartridge and these two pages were done in a snap. All the elements were kept to a very simple color palette of grey and yellow with a few splashes of color here and there. I really wanted to let the photos remain the focal point of each page.

I love, love this photo of the girls!!!

I dedicated a page each to each girl, keeping the embellishments simple and girlie.

Here are the proud parents.

I created a few pages where Tash can add some journaling. The kitty was made using my Cindy Loo cartridge.

And the last page has a pocket for more journaling and extra pics, etc. There a few more pages that I added more family pics .

Products used for this project are:
Cardstock, stamps, ink sentiment sticker on last page - Close To My Heart
patterned papers - My Minds Eye
Diecuts -Cricut and Artiste & Cindy Loo cartridges
Alphabet stickers - Thickers by American Crafts
Crochet hearts and mini flags- Bella Blvd
Chipboard elements-Basic Grey
Album and glitter bow paperclips- Heidi Swapp
Vintage fabric stickers-Websters Pages
hemp twine-Walmart
glimmer mist ink-Tattered Angels

This album is gonna be a surprise gift - I'm so excited to give it to her!!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today---- have a great rest of your day & weekend, too!!

All At Sea giftbox

Good morning! Recently SVG Attic had a huge sale (I think it might still be on!!!) in which all of their cutfiles was just $1 -can you believe that!!! I bought a whole bunch of 'em and now I'm having so much fun playing with the various projects, like this giftbox from the All At Sea file.

I imported the file into my Silhouette Designer program.Unfortunately, the files do not automatically convert to Silhouette cutfiles so I had to convert each file ( this took up the better part of an afternoon as I had many files purchased!!!).I wasn't sure on the sizing , so I just played around and this box ended up a wee bit under 6 inches high and about 6.5 inches in diameter. It's big enough for a decent size gift but I'd had to make sure the item wasn't too heavy. I used CTMH cardstock which cuts like a dream but it's not all that sturdy and has a white core... which showed up more in this pic than in RL.
The starfish elements are from CTMH as well and because they are light , they don't weigh the lid down. I stamped an image( on a canvas tag) from Stampin' Up!'s Uncharted Territory set which I colored with my Copic markers. This box was fairly simple to make but I think I'd probably make it smaller the next time.
The svg set All at Sea has a couple of cards, a giftbox and bag - an awesome value for just a dollar!!

I hope you enjoyed my little project today.... thanks for dropping by today!!
Have a great rest of your day!!

Feel like a Martini?? How about digi stamping?? Maybe both.....

Good evening! Now that I have put away the last of my Christmas decorations for another year , I finally am able to put some ink on my stamps ! Well, actually, not for this card, but I did manage to put my Copic markers to use again! To start with I used the sketch from this week's Friday Mashup to get my creative mojo going.

Here's the challenge:

Sketch By Cindy

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with the "Sketch."
  2. Create a project using "the theme of Time. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "a theme of Time & the Sketch."

I only used the sketch for my card this week ... here's what I made:

This little guy was a digi image I purchased last spring but it's only now that I colored him. He reminded me of my poor pooch when he had to wear the cone of shame for six weeks after he broke his leg ( my poor pup!!!).
I'm not sure if this is gonna be a get well card or just a fun card to give someone, so I left the inside blank for now.
I colored this guy last week and totally forgot to write down which Copic markers I used!!! Next time, right?????

Anyways, that's my card for the Friday Mashup this week- hope you enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by today..... have a great rest of your Sunday!!!

Merry and Joy .. and Max layout!

Happy New Year!!! I hope you've a had a wonderful holiday this year.... I certainly did. Lots of time with my family, great food, plenty of lazy snow days! We still have a few days before the kids are back to their school routine and life goes back to normal , well, our version of it anyways!!! I decided to take advantage of yet another snow day ( we have sooooo much snow right now!!!) and start on my Christmas layouts. Well, this time I had a little helper with me ... which made  my scrapping a wee bit more challenging....

Here's my furbaby, Max sitting on top of my layout.

She's just so sweet, how could I resist those eyes???

She's just too cute to resist!!! Love her so much!!

Finally got my layout completed.........

I used papers and journaling tags from Heidi Swapp's "Believe"Christmas collection and cute puffy felt stickers from KI Memories. Really a fast and simple layout.

I've got a few more layouts to share . jus as soon as I can get them edited and ready to post.
Thanks for stopping by... have a great day!!!
