Scrappin' Tuesday:A Vacation layout

Hi all!! Sorry about the lack of posting lately but  I've been having troubles uploading to my blog lately ( grrr!!!) but after many frustrating attempts I finally managed to upload a pic!!!
I have sooooo many photos of my trip to the UK/ Ireland - I know there's no way I'll scrap all of them!!
When I got my recent order from Two Peas In A Bucket , I fell in love with Pink Paislee's London Market line.... all those bits in the Ephemera package... oh, I just had to make a page!!!

I used the mini Union Jack flags along with map flags for the banner , and then odds 'n ends from the package for the accentsughout the page. The floral dp is also Pink Paislee London Market. I created a diecut border with my Cricut ( Art Philosophy). The wood background is from a DCWV paper pack and the mini border strip ( above banner)is from My Mind's Eye.

There's still so many pieces left that would make great accents for cards, mini albums, etc! Oh, the possibilities!!

So that's my layout ... thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great ccrafty day!!!

Mother's Day altered Canvas

Hello, thanks for joining me today! Tomorrow is Mother's Day and although I already mailed my cards and gifts out to my mom and MIL , I really wanted to play along with this week's challenge over at Cooking with Cricut #85 - Mother's Day gift ideas.

I strated off by using a template from The Crafter's Workshop called Wood Grain ,which I spritzed with Glimmer Mist ( Wheat Beer) to get a gorgeous custom background for my canvas ( 9"X 9" size).
I used my cartridge Phrases for the sentiment and for the bracket photo mat . To get the glossy for the word " Mother's " , I covered it with CTMH liquid glass. I also used Art Philosophy for the various size flowers ( I used up scraps of polka dot papers for them)and the rhinestone jewels are from my stash- it was one larger flourish which I just cut to get  the two  seperate pieces.

Here's a closeup of the phrase and flowers  --- I adhered them to the canvas with my hotglue gun so they would stick forever!!!!! Every glue dot I've ever tried has come undone eventually , so I pulll out my glue gun for these types of projects.

So, that's my project done just in time for Mother's Day !!!

Thanks for checking out my blog today--- hope you have a great Mother's Day!!

Welcome Baby card

Hello! A friend of mine asked me to make her a card welcoming her first grandchild , arriving any day now! After searching through all my stamps I realized I had no baby images , just sentiments!  Can you believe that- I have over a hundred stamp sets from various sources and  still not a single baby image!!! So I searched through a few digi sites till I found the one I wanted from Squigglefly. The stork and baby set is perfect for boy or girl, but luckily I know that my friend's daughter is gonna have a sweet baby boy soon!

I kept this card very CAS , since the background dp ( just one sheet with all those awesome-y patterns) was quite busy. The dp is leftover from a Simply Scrappin' set I had tucked away for just the right moment. I colored the stork and baby image with my Copics and added a cute sentiment from SU! 's hostess set , Something to Celebrate. I used the same dp to finish up the inside of this card.
I must admit  I was a bit worried at first, I am super pleased with how it turned out!!! Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today....have a great day !

Just For You Butterfly card

Hello , thanks for joining me today. It's a bit of a wet one here in western Newfoundland, so I'm gonna hide away in my craft room and create! I'm looking forward to nicer weather coming our way- I have lots of work to do outside! But since this rain has me inside, I thought I'd make a card that reminds me that spring is actually here , even if the weatherman says otherwise!!!

This card is made mostly using leftover scraps of paper I had lying around.  I had this 6X6 paflowerper pad from Stampin' Up! called Patterns Pack II that was a hostess set and it has seen quite a bit of use , but now that SU is retiring many of these colors ( or has already done so) I really want to use as much of it as possible! The yellow polka dot paper ( Spellbinders scallop square) is new- it's from CTMH promotional paper pack called Dotty For You. The butterfly ( from SU) was diecut on Sale-A Bration Everyday Enchantment dsp. The center flower was from  last years SAB  set :Bliss.I finished it off with a vintage brad from SU for the middle.
The stamp set is the hostess set from SU's current catty called Precious Butterflies. I thought
this would be lovely for scrapbooking , but I can see some beautiful cards can be made as well!!!
I handstitched the Sahara Sand grid paper ( from PPII set) - and to get neat stitching lines I used SU handy-dandy little Mat Pack. This lil set is a staple in my craft room- I actually own two!!! No, it's not beacuse I love them so much but for awhile I thought I lost my original so I bought another and of course then I find my first set!!!

I"m submitting this card for a couple of challenges this week:

The first is a sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Planet ( here's the sketch)

I loosely followed the sketch for my card.

The second challnge blog I'm entering is for Crazy 4 Challenges. The theme is gardening / great outdoors.

So that's my card... thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Shopping Our Stash 50 : Mother's Day or anything girly

Good Friday morning! I got a bunch of CTMH stamps this week and one of my favorites is the Fashionista set. It's the perfect set for this week's SOS challenge- Mother's Day or anything girly.

Since I already have my Mother's Day cards made I thought I'd make just a girly card. I used  some of my retired Stampin' Up! dsp for the label and for the chevron background I pulled out my Smooch spray and a  The Crafter's Workshop  6X6 chevron template. I'm really loving these templates- you can do much with them and the results are so unique and pretty! The chevron is my fav today, and it's  made an appearance in several of my cards and scrappages lately!
That's my card for the current challenge over at Shopping Our Stash- go check out the blog for loads and loads of inspiration!!

Thanks  for stopping by my blog today... have a fantastic weekend!!!
